Counter top organisation:
Let me take you through my workspace 😁
I live in a rented apartment in chennai! It's 4 and half years that we are in the same apartment.
The below pics gives sneak peak of my counter top.I have an L shaped counter top.Its a very compact kitchen though it's lengthy the workspace is minimal.
I kind of like to keep less things so as to avoid traffic during busy parts of the day.
In childhood we used to keep shifting houses.Even if its a rental house my mom used to think it as our own house and keep things all around the house so neat snd organised. My mom has made a huge impact in my life. When I was married initially I was clueless on how my kitchen should look.😑 But then mom helped to set the kitchen from scratch. And last four years I have piled up things some would be doubles, extras, etc. Now suddenly when am working on being a minimalist, though I can't discard things all at once since I have spent on them,I utilise the loft space for them and keep a note so we don't double it even more.
I still use plastics and non sticks. Ten years from now I look forward to using glass and cast iron but definitely not for the next five years because I can't handle them well 😆
On one side I have mixer, kettle, some cooking essentials and kitchen scrap bin. On the other side I have gas and corner stand and some more essentials which will be shown in detail. I also keep the cooked food in one corner of the kitchen itself and during meals we take it to the dining table.
Here I have mixer and hand chopper. Next to it I have a wooden tray which has kitchen tissues, some extra wooden pot holders behind it,salt in ceramic jar,Ghee mixed with oil above it(used only for rotis), coconut oil(I use it max in daily cooking) and Ghee.
Then close to it there is water jug used for cooking and filter coffee decotion jar.
In the corner stand next to gas I have two holders one with spatulas, brushes, serving spoons and other with knife, coconut scraper, scissor etc.Behind them there are two size chopping boards and extra Ghee container.
Below there is anjarai petti or spice box and steel box which has wheat flour used for dusting during roti preparation.
Whistles for cooker is also kept there so it's easily accessible for anyone.Close to it I have this wooden pot holder to either keep used cooker or milk pots.
Thank you ☺
