JEERA RICE (PRESSURE COOKER METHOD)
Ingredients :
Basmati rice - 1 cup
Water - 2 cups
Salt - as per taste
Seasoning:
Ghee - 2 tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few chopped
Coriander leaves - few chopped
Steps:
1. Wash and soak Basmati rice in 2 cups of water for about 15 mins
2. In a pressure cooker add Ghee, Jeera and allow it to splutter.
3. Add the chopped curry and Coriander leaves and saute it for about few seconds
4. Add the rice along with water and add the required salt as per taste.
5. Pressure cook it for three whistles and serve hot.
Note:
1. Soak Basmati rice for about good 15 mins for the rice to be fluffy and non sticky.
2. Use 1:2 ratio for rice to water.
3. Two to three whistles is enough for Basmati rice to cook if it goes more then rice becomes sticky and breaks when we try to mix it.
